During his Christmas vacation, Hayato got into an accident that partially cut into his femoral artery. Having narrowly survived, the doctors ran tests on his blood, only to find out that he has Hemophilia Type A, thinness of the blood. As a precautionary act, his father enrolls him in St. Ibaraki’s School for the Physically Disabled, in central Hokkaido. Hayato is a fairly normal 18 year old. He enjoys video games, movies, soccer, and fly-fishing. He is laid back and open-minded.
